Ryan Thomas - Director

Reach Foundation Director Ryan Thomas

I live and work in Delta and I’m excited to serve on Reach Foundation as a director. I am already aware of the vital work Reach Child and Youth Development Society does in the lower mainland and the difference it makes to children with special needs and their families. My daughter has special needs so I know how Reach programs help.

As Operations Manager at Global Container Terminals Canada, I bring connections and experience to my new role at the Reach Foundation. I hope to bring funding and long lasting relationships to this great community resource that over 1000 families in Delta, Surrey and Langley benefit from annually.

"I would like a chance to give back to the community by using my contacts & experience."

Ulf Ottho

Ulf lives in South Delta and is following in the footsteps of his wife Linda by stepping up to serve on the Reach Foundation Board. Linda’s contribution as a director was immense and she will always be remembered.

As a retired lawyer, Ulf has advisory expertise to offer Reach in many areas. He expects to derive great satisfaction from serving as a director at Reach and in turn serving the community. Ulf can help by advising on lease negotiation to securing funds to complete the Building for Children Together project with an abundance of prior experience serving on non-profit boards.

Ryan Ormerod - Director

Reach Society President Donna Burke introduced me to volunteering with this worthwhile organization. I have always been interested in having a positive impact on vulnerable populations and I believe Reach  has strong leadership to help children with special needs and their families.

The number of children with special needs is increasing and I want to help Reach deliver their mandate now and in the future. I have a lot of energy as well as financial expertise to offer the organization.

"I’m very motivated to learn all I can in my new role in order to maximize my contribution."

Remembering Norman Stark, Director

"Reach Foundation Director Norman Stark passed away on December 14th, 2016. He was a generous man and a community leader whose genuine satisfaction came from helping, supporting and encouraging others. Norman had a lasting impact on Reach and he was instrumental to the success of our capital campaign and  in doing so he helped create the foundation that will help generations of children to come.  Norman guided us and taught us, inspired us  and lead by example and with integrity.  He touched many of our lives deeply with his  wisdom and caring ways.  Norman will live on in our hearts and in our memories and in the lives of all the children who will receive help as a result of Norman’s commitment to Reach. In honour of his work with us, Norman's family kindly requested that donations be sent to Reach Foundation in lieu of flowers. Since his passing, we have received an outpouring of support in his memory."

Renie D'Aquila, Executive Director, Reach Child and Youth Development Society

Remembering Linda Otto, Director

“Linda was introduced to Reach as part of a Ladner Rotary Club contingent charged with organizing an Easter Egg Hunt for preschoolers.  From the moment Linda met these children she was smitten and shortly thereafter she began her new volunteer career as a Reach Foundation Board Member.  She worked tirelessly day and night to  raise the funds needed  to create a new centre  in Ladner where more children and youth  could be helped. At Linda’s passing, Reach’s building campaign had generated 2.3 million of the $4 million plus dollars needed.   Linda’s contribution to Reach will forever be recognized on a plaque in her memory in the new Ladner based child development centre .”
