The Parent Network’s primary function is to provide support for parents of children with special needs. It has two main components: sharing pertinent information and connecting parents with other parents:

The Parent Support Network Weekly Email Newsletter.

This is a free email newsletter that attempts to share up to date information that is relevant to parents of children with special needs. Topics covered include updates that are happening at CLBC and MCFD and any broader significant policy changes that parents should be aware about. There is a section on education issues as well as a section that informs you of up coming courses and workshops that may be of interest to parents. A particular strength of the newsletter is the Help a Parent! section where parents can post their own queries, whether it be particular advice or information wanted, or if they want to meet up with other parents locally or connect with other parents of children who maybe facing similar challenges.

The Newsletter is published on the Reach website (see link at top of page), or you can subscribe to our email list to receive latest editions at home. It is becoming increasingly popular and is circulated to over 500 parents throughout BC and Canada. The Parent Support Network Group Meetings

Group Meetings are on hold until further notice. However, Reach Child and Youth Development Society provides a variety of networking opportunities through our individual programs and through our Workshops programs. For information on upcoming workshops visit our events calender.
