Reach M-PWER Program
Multi-Element Parenting for Wellness, Education and Resilience.
What is the M-PWER Program?
M-PWER stands for Multi-Elemental Parenting for Wellness, Education and Resilience. It is a family and parenting support program that addresses the needs of families who have children with complex conditions by providing emotional and practical support. Parents gain increased capacity, knowledge and confidence in their parenting skills which leads to an enhanced quality of life for the whole family.
The M-PWR program is strength-based, goal focused, culturally safe and anti-oppressive, trauma informed as well as family and person centred. During the program, families will create a Family Action Plan with REACH staff identifying their priorities and goals. Families work on these goals over a 6 month period and are then supported to transition out of the program over a 3 month period.
Eligibility:
M-PWER is for families in Delta, Surrey Langley with children and youth (birth to 18 who):
- have a developmental disability, and /or
- have a diagnosis of an autism spectrum disorder, and/or
- are eligible for the At-Home Program due to complex health issues or a palliative condition.
