REACH’S PLACE (to be!) SUMMER PROGRAM IS FULL

Are you looking for a fun summer experience for your 3-5 year old? Welcome to the Reach Summer Program.  Our highly trained ECE staff have planned an exciting program to keep up and build summer routines, friendships and learning, all wrapped up in play-based activities. This is a great opportunity to introduce your child to a preschool experience! The program will take place at the South Delta Reach location at 5050 47 Avenue in Ladner.  The phone number for the preschool is 604-946-6622, Ext. 317.  If we are unable to take your call, please leave us a voice message and we will get back to you as soon as we can. The summer program will run from July 11 until August 5 in 1 week segments with the daily schedule running from 9 am to 1 pm.   Currently, all dates are full and we are not accepting waitlist names. The following information will outline the procedures for the summer program. Please read this carefully.  If you have any questions or concerns please let us know.

 Arrival/Departure:

Children should be dropped off and picked up from the patio area at the back of the main Reach Building (adjacent to the water park).  Families should wait with their children until a teacher has greeted you and welcomed the children.  Adults will not enter the preschool unless absolutely necessary for your child’s comfort.  Although face coverings are no longer necessary they are very much appreciated as is social distancing while waiting to drop off or pick up your child. The children will be dismissed from the same location at the end of the daily program.

Please be sure to notify the preschool at 604-946-6622, Ext. 317 if your child is going to be absent or late arriving or if anyone other than yourself will be picking them up.

 Snacks/Lunches:

Reach preschool is a NUT FREE facility.  Please keep this in mind when preparing your child’s snack or lunch.  Children must bring their own snacks and lunch from home in a clearly labelled lunch box or container.  The children will not share food at preschool.  Please make sure to include a water bottle or juice box.  The preschool will not supply any reusable utensils, plates, cups or dishes.  All of these items must be brought from home. Children’s lunches will not be warmed up at preschool.  If you want your child to have a warm lunch, you must heat it at home and put it in a thermos.

 Personal Belongings:

EACH CHILD WILL NEED: (please clearly label every item)

  • Enough snack and lunch to sustain them for their preschool time (NUT FREE)
  • A water bottle (they will have access to their water bottle throughout the program)
  • Diapers and pull-ups if necessary
  • A change of clothes
  • Rain jacket if necessary
  • A bike helmet if they want to use bikes
  • A sun hat and sunglasses
  • Closed toe shoes for outdoor play (flip-flops and open toe sandals are not safe for the playground)
  • Sunscreen (to be applied before arrival at preschool)
  • A bathing suit and towel (in case we go to the water park)

DO NOT bring any unnecessary items to preschool.  The only exception to this policy will be for medical equipment such as EPI pens or inhalers which must be clearly labelled and kept at the preschool in case of emergency.

Outdoor Play:

Outdoor play will be a large part of your child’s preschool summer experience.  Please make sure that they have the necessary items (as listed above) to make outdoor play safe and comfortable for them.  We can’t stress enough the importance of labelling all of your child’s belongings.

Staffing:

There will be a minimum of one Early Childhood Educator and two support staff at the preschool for each group of up to 10 children in attendance.

Summer Fees:

Fees for your child’s summer sessions are due on the first day of each weekly session unless they have been paid in advance.  The fees are $160/week except for the last week which will be $130 because it is only a four day week.  These fees may be paid by cash, cheque or credit card.  Credit card authorization forms are available at the preschool.  If cost is a prohibitive factor in your child being able to attend the summer program, please let us know.

We look forward to welcoming your child at our Reach’s Place (to be!) Summer Program this year.  We are looking forward to a fun-filled time and to getting to know your child.
